Singer-songwriter, home recording artist @@ron is excited to announce his first publicly released single. @@ron has been at it for years with various groups throughout Indiana, but this is his first release all his own. Aaron Wright, AKA @@ron, is and Indiana-based musician who has played with bands like Flatted Fifth, Thick Jones, and (we know this one is a deep cut) the Arsens.
@@ron started recording music back in high school during the early 2000's using a 4-track tape machine and a laptop running Cool Edit Pro 2.0. The early recordings were not much to write home about and could be described as extremely lo-fi (think Daniel Johnston).
As time went on and he was able to learn more about the recording process, his production evolved. Although @@ron is still of the mentality that "80% is good enough", his ear and knowledge of recording techniques, production and songwriting has blossomed into something he can be proud of.
Tinkering with recording and songwriting over the years has lead to a lot mismatched and incomplete material that wasn't worth releasing. However, in 2023 @@ron went back through is catalog and found 4 songs recorded in 2019 that were cohesive enough, and of good enough quality, to release as an EP. The result is his first EP titled 'EP'. The first of two singles is 'Why Should I?', a song about getting things done yourself and doing the best you can with what you have; which consequently is the philosophy in which these songs were recorded.
